A Roanoke native, Diane Stout Grant has been involved with Church Music work since high school, leading the music program in a variety of area churches for many years, including Oak Grove Church of the Brethren (1970-74). She has spent 34 years teaching elementary school in Roanoke County, retiring in 2004. She began working with English handbells in 1985 and has been solo ringing since 1990. Her love of music and love of the Lord led her to Oak Grove again around 2011 when she accepted the call to direct the Oak Grove Ringers. She thoroughly enjoys working with the dedicated ringers and incorporating the uplifting sounds into the Lord’s Services here. When not ringing, she enjoys reading, traveling, staying at her cabin in Smyth County, singing in a Southern Gospel trio, and leading the music program at her home church, Midland Baptist in Vinton.
