Helping Our Community

Helping Our Community, Home and Abroad — During the month of December, our youth will be in the fellowship hall after worship with a ministry opportunity for you. As a result of their Wednesday evening Bible studies on Compassion (led by Hannah Oakes), the youth have packed 50 bags to help those in need of basic items (hat, gloves, water bottle, hand warmers, socks, crackers, etc.). The content in the bags cost about $7.00, and that will be your price.
You have two options when you make this purchase. On Friday, you may take the bag and give it to whom you feel led . . . the man on the corner with a cardboard sign asking for work/help, a person you see who might be staying under a bridge, to home owners you visit through Project WARM (Marc Wilson can let you know if the need for these items is there), RAM House, etc. Or, you may leave the bag for the youth to distribute where there is a need (same places mentioned above).
If you want to give above the $7.00/bag, we will also be sending donations to Castañer General Hospital in Castañer, Puerto Rico. The hospital was started by the Church of the Brethren 75 years ago this year. The hospital experienced some damage from Hurricane Maria this fall. They are up and running and have helped so many during this difficult time in Puerto Rico.
